The 2026 Building Re-Opening Campaign—$50,000 to feed our community again!

Dear Friends,
We are DELIGHTED to announce we ABFP has re-opened and have resumed our normal operations.
On June 13, 2026 we held our first Saturday Grocery Distribution, and will continue those distributions on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month.
On June 17, 2026 we we will hold our first Wednesday Community Supper & Grocery Distribution, which we will continue every week.
The Nearly New Thrift Shop is holding Saturday hours from 11–3, weather permitting, and will be fully open by July.

In early February, what first appeared to be a few small drips of water in our reception area quickly revealed a much larger problem. Hidden ice dams had formed along portions of the building with flat and low-pitched roofs, trapping melting snow and forcing water back under the roofing. As freezing and thawing cycles continued, the drips turned into steady streams that soaked walls and ceilings throughout the building. For the safety of our guests, volunteers, and staff, we made the difficult decision to close the pantry building to the public on February 6 while emergency remediation began.

Insurance has covered a significant part of the repairs, but sizeable portion of the cost remains our responsibility. To meet this challenge, we are launching the 2026 Building Re-Opening Campaign, with a goal of raising $50,000 to cover the remaining repair expenses so that these unexpected costs do not divert funds from feeding our community.
