On the first Tuesday of every month from 2pm, we need assistance unloading the delivery of food from the Food Bank. This is a great opportunity for groups and typically lasts about two hours.
On the second and fourth Friday of the month from 1pm to 3pm, we need assistance to prepare our food baskets for our food basket distribution. This is a great shift for people who like to organize because we make up about 75 to 100 baskets of dry goods and prep our perishable items for distribution.
On the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from 8:30am to 1:30pm, Allston Brighton Food Pantry needs help distributing our food baskets to those in need in our community. Volunteer duties include greeting people, checking them in, helping to manage the flow of the distribution, assisting in our thrift shop and making additional baskets as needed.
On Wednesdays, we have a variety of opportunities for volunteers. Volunteers can prepare food for our community supper, give out emergency groceries, and clean up pantry spaces. We welcome volunteers for any amount of time they are available to help from 10am to 6pm.
On Tuesdays from 10-12pm, Thursdays from 10-12pm, and Fridays 11-1pm we have general operational shifts for volunteers. Cleaning our fridges, organizing our pantry, and general tasks that keep us running.
We welcome community members to drop off desserts to be distributed during Community Dinners on Wednesday evenings. Call for scheduled drop off 617-919-6498.
We welcome community members to donate non-perishable goods, fresh goods like produce and dairy, or even start a drive in our name. This goods will go directly to our community that week! Please contact volunteer@brightonallstonucc.org for more information.
