The Allston Brighton Food Pantry provides nourishing food at no cost to members of the local community.
Please continue to share the word of our 2026 Building Re-Opening Campaign, with a goal of $50,000, so that these unexpected repairs do not divert funds from feeding our community. For more information please check out our 2026 Building Re-Open Campaign page and our Instagram @abfoodpantry where Matthew Rasure shows the current building conditions and updates.
All volunteer opportunities will be posted on our Volunteer page and in the May Volunteer Sign Up Form.
After the severe winter damage caused by ice dams and roof leaks, restoration work is moving forward quickly. Remediation and repairs are now about 65% complete. We have installed a new roof on the back portion of the building, completed new electrical wiring, and drywall and insulation work will begin early next week. If all continues on schedule, we are hopeful that the building will reopen at the end of April and shortly thereafter we can resume serving our neighbors.
Our insurance policies have covered around 60% of the costs of remediation and repair. To fill this gap, we are launching the 2026 Building Re-Opening Campaign, with a goal of $50,000, so that these unexpected repairs do not divert funds from feeding our community.
Your support will help restore the building and allow us to reopen our doors as quickly as possible. Every contribution brings us one step closer to reopening and continuing the work of neighbors feeding neighbors.
Thank you for standing with us during this unexpected challenge. We look forward to welcoming our community back very soon.
Dear Friends,
We will continued to be closed for the following week of February 22-28th. Please do not hesitate to contact volunteer@brightonallstonucc.org for any questions or concerns. Thank you for your patience and support during this time.
Dear Friends,
Due to roof damage and water infiltration caused by massive ice dams, the Allston Brighton Food Pantry will be closed for approximately two weeks while stabilization and remediation work is completed. This pause is necessary to ensure the safety of our guests, staff, and volunteers. While this interruption is difficult, we are grateful to be addressing these issues now and remain hopeful about reopening as soon as it is safe to do so.
During the closure, we will share weekly updates so you can stay informed about our progress.
For neighbors who need food during this time, please refer them to:
- Allston Brighton Food Chain — a coordinated network of nearby food access points
- Other food distributions across Greater Boston
Once the building is safe and dry, we will organize volunteer clean-up opportunities, and we look forward to welcoming volunteer groups back as soon as possible.
For those who wish to support the Pantry during this closure, donations are deeply appreciated and can be made via Venmo (@ABFoodPantry) or PayPal.
Thank you for your patience, generosity, and continued care for our neighbors. We are deeply grateful for this community and look forward to opening our doors again soon.
